MEGAN BILLINGS. [MEG-un BIL-ingz] noun. 1. A singer, actress, and dancer whose face is guaranteed to react to what is said to it, likely by bursting into song. 2. Animal resembling a monkey, native to Sacramento, CA; now found swinging through the concrete jungle of NYC.
synonyms: poised leading lady; silly monkey. Think classy ham.
Don’t let her leading lady poise and aptitude for the British accent fool you: Megan can bring it with her physical comedy and an innate - though also trained - comedic timing.
A graduate of Oklahoma City University (MM) and a student of Grace Chermak (Matt Farnsworth studio), Megan’s vocal versatility spans everything from opera to Disney princess to Broadway belt. She enjoys flailing her long limbs at Broadway Dance Center, where she assisted jazz legend Sue Samuels for two years. Megan also trained in improv comedy at The Second City.
One producer described her as “the consummate professional [with] an incredible stage presence [that] takes instant command of an audience”. (Producer not under duress when statements were made.) Megan values telling stories that allow audiences to get a humorously healing perspective on their own experiences and the world around them. As Rowan Atkinson says, “Life is a tragedy in close-up and a comedy in long shot. If you sit back visually on a situation, it automatically becomes funnier.” So sit back, relax, and enjoy The Show!
